Wm. Stage, author of Ghost Signs: Brick Wall Signs in America [1989], has launched his blog The Painted Ad with his daughter Margaret. I met Mr. Stage in St. Louis back in 1999 while crossing the U.S. on a photo-expedition. Over the years we have maintained correspondence and he was kind enough to write an introduction to my upcoming book The Fading Ads of NYC (History Press) 2011.
