My sister Susan found a VINTAGE 1937 “Selected High Altitude Recipes,” “Tested in the Solitaire Kitchen” book. The inner page has the Solitaire Foods logo, and The Morey Mercantile Company below that. It says it was published by this company with a copyright of 1937-1947 by The Morey Mercantile Company, Denver, Colorado.
Do you think there might be a museum that might be interested in this?
Thanks!
Who knows? Would love to see a scan of it. I can post it and one of our readers may help you on this thread.
When were they in existence? I have some photos in 1910 + or -, of people holding a Morey’s Solitaire Tea umbrella. Do they sell tea or coffee products? Did they ever have umbrellas? We live on the western slope.
I looked it up and found the Morey Mercantile Co building was first known as the Brown Mercantile, started in late 1800’s. Purchased by Morey in 1937, renovated, and went out of business 1956 due to competition from Loyd King’s King Soopers chain.
I have a recipe book also. my mother-in law used it for years, her mother-in law gave it to her. I also have a glass jar that held coffee with the logo on it.
I have a Morey merch. Pure Apple Cidar Vinegar jar with label and cap in excellent condition found in basement craw space 1880 cap hill home!!
I have a odd designed antique lighter, marked”Little Solitaire”Morey’s 5 cent Cigar, which has the symbol for cent after the 5.Does anyone know if this was from the Morey Mercantile Company from Denver,Colorado, and possibly date it?And maybe value.
Thanks
I have a large glass jar with Solitaire Coffee written on a red lid. It had belonged to my parents. Can you put a value on it??
is the morey firm jewish?
Don’t quite understand the relevance or motivation for your question. How can a business have a religion?
I have a old 1 lb. coffee can painted label “Silver Band Coffee” and it was distributed by Solitaire Coffee & Tea,Denver Co. and I was wondering if it was one that Morey Merchantile carried?
