I have always heard about glass workshop from my father, my gandfather and grandmother. Never seen pictures of the place. I would love to see it in real life one day. Too bad that it looks that way now. I am kinda surprised that it’s standing, as of 2010 anyways. Thank you for showing this.
Sure! Thank you for dropping by. Let me know when you come to NY and I’ll show you where it is. Best Frank
Nicholas was my great- grandfather. My grandmother, his daughter, also shared many stories.
Vincenzo drove past this again and said it is on Himrod Street in Brooklyn.
This building was originally the Williamsburg Flint Glass Works – His name awe Jean (John Nicholas Walter) owned it. Also there was a Joseph Walter that came to the US with John. They won two silver medals at the New York Exposition. I always thought my great-great-grandmother was a Dannenhoffer – however, I do have Dannenhoffers in my family line. These were really close knit families from the Alsace-Lorraine area.
Wow. Thanks for stopping by and providing this valuable genealogical background. Please send any photos you may have and I’ll post them!
