That Flying Boots neon sign has been there foooooorever. I have a pic somewhere of my grandparents standing in front of it around 1960-1965.
The “Boots” was very well known for serving seriously stiff drinks and having awesome greasy diner food. Used to eat there all the time as a kid, then hit up Frisbee’s Bakery next door on the way home for some fresh bread and stuff.
The Boots is still there as far as I know, but I haven’t been in there in 15 or so years. The neighborhood is all vietnamese now, so I don’t know if the Boots is still the same inside.

Bob – would love to see that pic if you could dig it out and share it! Frank
