I used to feed my dog this stuff as a boy….
It was a cereal based food that I would mix with a meat based food….
Honestly,,.. I never thought about it for probably 40 years (I’m 52 now)
Good work in seeing the beauty of this nondescript aspect of the American Culinary Scene.
great to read the comment,
enjoyed seeing the pix and would like to know the person who finds the walls with them
my family owned cadet and redan packing company and then sold it in the 70’s
brings back great memories
Thanks Leslie- So glad to document your family legacy. The Cadet shots in Boerum Hill have been covered I believe. It was once off Bond and Bergen I believe.
I am a nephew of the owner of cadet dog food. How are you related? I even worked at the factory while I was in college. Please respond.
Hi, I am the grandaughter of Daniel Pearlstein. Also the daughter of Simon Sanders. We celebrated many holidays together.
We grew up in Rego Park.
Please reply

Welcome to the Fading Ad Blog Leslie! Glad you were able to find your kin here. Come again soon. Frank
I believe you also had a brother. I left the NY area over 11 years ago and live in Florida. I have a Pearlstein Family Tree if you are interested. My e-mail address is bsp2@comcast.net
My father and uncle, Fred & Robert Littmann, were over-the-road truck drivers for Re-Dan in the 50’s & 60’s. I visited the plants in Ozone Park & Maspeth a ton of times. I saw Dan Pearlstein a few times, and met Si Sanders a lot.
I found this page while searching for a logo to have embroidered on a shirt I just bought.
