I’ve always found the name “Corn Exchange Bank” hilarious — I imagine people coming in with bushels of corn to deposit.
Reminds me of a story my friend John Kelly tells of when he worked with Carol Channing. He snuck into her dressing room and she came in shortly after. He hid and she went into the bathroom and a few farts later exclaimed, “Corn. When did I eat corn?”
That’s one bank name I’d never expect to see in Brooklyn.
