Wonderful childhood memories walking through the market with my dad and stopping at all the stalls-miss it all so much.
I loved to shop in the market with my Mom and Grandma. Brings back wonderful old memories, miss Brooklyn !!!!!!
My grandfather opened up a produce stand in this market ,sometime in the early 1940’s,when then Mayor Laguardia’s administration brought the peddlers from the streets. My father later took over the produce stand until sometime in the 1960’s. It was a bustling market with most Italian and Jewish merchants. I had great memories, as a child, helping my father during the summer months.
Great memories. Thanks for sharing. If you find any photos, I would love to post them. Best Frank
