Back in the late ’70s, I figured out how to create a toll free number from any given telephone number that existed. We had fun charging calls to those “800” numbers that we created for major corporations that we considered “greedy by nature”. (Given;- The FBI didn’t like it as much as we did – So much more the merrier… After all;- We were pranksters, right? 🙂
My friend Allen Kaufman (AKA “The Pie Man”) was able to publish how to do this in the Yipster Times.
Can you find me a copy of this article? – It was published somewhere between 1976 and 1979. If you could send me a copy, I’d appreciate it!
P.S – Please send my regards to Ken Beardsley if he’s still around somewhere (last time I heard he was in Newburg NY, and last I saw him, he was mixing sound for the Jefferson Starship concert in Poughkeepsie NY in the late 70’s).
– Our methods may have changed, but our dreams and goals for a better world live on! It’s time we look back on the future, and make a better present.

I AM LOOKING FOR A COPY OF THE ISSUE OF MAY 1976. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO VIEW IT ONLINE? IN PARTICULAR, “FILIPINO MASSACRE” FROM THAT ISSUE. THANX IN ADVANCE, FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE ME.
Just thought I’d say hi(gh). I was a distributor of the Yipster Times back around 1973.

Hey Bruce! Thanks for stopping by!
I remember the issue that had directions on how to build a black box for free toll calls. Does anyone remember a farm in Penn. called The Whole in the Universe? Two Yippies vacationed there.
