What an awesome building. The detail is so beautiful. I wish we built structures like those today. That building was built with pride. The art proves it.
This is one of the station houses designed by Heins and LaFarge, who in large part built NYC’s original Beaux Arts subway stations from 1904-1908.

Good to see you Kevin. Thanks for the additional info. So glad they decided to salvage this structure amidst the rampant teardowns.
Sadly though the MTA save the building just to plunk it down on the traffic island where it serves no purpose. Too bad no one had the foresight to repurpose it as an entry way or something.
