Check out the Brooklyn blog about:
Sustainable Flatbush [which] provides a neighborhood-based forum to discuss, promote and implement sustainability concepts in Brooklyn and beyond. This blog is maintained and moderated by Anne Pope. She promises to keep real estate and politics out of the discussion. (Well, maybe a little politics.)

Previously posted another image of this wall entitled Bread (on Sutphin Blvd) but have since identified a possible name of the business. This pentimento also has the words “Castle” and “Beach” peeking through. Any leads on this, please comment.
Read Obama’s latest apologetic BS. I mean- look at this logo- you can drive a truck through it, as you could his weak argument for inclusivity. Obama welcomes all points of view in his campaign- even homophobic ones. Imagine the uproar if Michael Richards joined the Clinton or Edwards campaign.
Read Rod 2.0 and AMERICAblog.com. Why should I be surprised or expect any less from a Black politician? Covering all the bases? Perhaps Tim Hardaway should join the fray? Is Anita Bryant still alive? So many questions, so little qualified Democratic candidates. It’s scary to think that Rudy Giuliani is our best advocate. Let’s not forget that “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and the Ban on HIV/AIDS Immigration occurred under the Clinton Administration. Hillary doesn’t even mention LGBTQ issues on her website. I guess she’s comfortable enough with her polls that she can sit on her duff on LGBTQ issues. Who is Mike Gravel?
Reproduction of an ad campaign to counter discrimination against gays showing a newborn with the word “homosexual” written on his wristband. The slogan on the ad which was published in Italian national newspapers, reads “Sexual orientation is not a choice.” MSN

Did you know that the core of golf balls are made with gutta percha, the same material used to fill root canals (endodontic therapy)? Red maples are not as exotic. They should not be confused with sugar maples which produce the fabulous pancake syrup. Aren’t trees great? You can ruin your teeth and then rebuild them with tree sap!

Gail Albert Halaban contacted me about her brilliant documentary project and I wanted to post it as quickly as I could.
Gail Albert Halaban, photographer, in collaboration with the Design Trust for Public Space is working on a documentary photography project about people and their views in New York City and beyond.
Be part of a documentary photography project…
We are looking for all types of people that have all types of views that are descriptive to New York City.
If you look out your window and see a pizza parlor, or you have a view of a bridge or some other famous landmark, you have a view of where the World Trade Center used to be, you have a view into other people’s windows, or you have a view of buildings being renovated, then we are looking to photograph you and your view. Basically, we are looking for all types of people and views that describe the old and the new New York, and the ever changing skyline. If you live in Manhattan, Queens, New Jersey, Brooklyn, the Bronx, or Staten Island, and want to be a part of this photography project, please contact us at newyorkviews@gmail.com with a jpg of you and your view today! You will receive a print for your participation.
