My grandmother ate Hollywood bread every day for 70 years. Only the dark kind, not the white.
I miss Hollywood bread. I have never eaten
any bread that good since. It surely was a
healthy food?
I will continue to try to find a distributor.
Thanks for e-mailing.
Who has the recipe for the dark Hollywood
Bread now?
I remember eating Hollywood Bread as late as 1990. It had all kinds of vegetables in it, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, kale, potato, etc. It was very good. I liked the dark kind better. I wish I knew if they still sold it anywhere now. I would love to eat it again. It was very delicious.
I’d give anything to find that dark, delicious bread again – I have never had as tasty a bread since – I believe I still got it in the 90’s in New England – I’ll check back to see if anyone’s found it!
Let me know if anyone finds Hollywood bread.
We LOVED dark Hollyoodbread with speghetti. Haven’t found anything as good since. We got in sent in special from the last distributor in Des Moines, IA in the early 90’s. Would love to have the recipe!!!

Alas, I loved Hollywood dark Bread. How can we find it, and where did it go?????
I was talking about my grandmother and Hollywood Bread came up. It was always in her house. The last time I was able to pick it up was back in 1990 when I was working part time in a Pathmark Supermarket. Please e-mail it you know of distribution in the New York area. Thanks.
We have never found a bread so good as Hollywood; we loved it toasted – but careful, burns easily!
WHO HAS THE RECIPE?
Any updates on Hollywood Bread
Is this bread still made? and if not when did it stop, and when was the first loaf sold?
I thought that Flowers Food acquired it years ago, but it’s not listed as one of their products now, unless it’s a different name. I have never found another dark bread that was so soft. Contact flowersfoods.com.
I have a wonderful video of an original hollywood ‘light” bread commercial. It is from 1965 and Woody Allen in being interviewed.
Let me know if you would like to see it.
best

George- Would love to see it! Is it posted on YOUTUBE? Looking forward to hearing from you. Frank
Yes it is posted. Go to Georgebettinger on youtube. Should say Woody Allen Hollywood Bread. I think it was done right here in FL.
Looking around. Can’t find that one. Love the Roll n Roaster commercial. Brings back memories! Could you send me a link?
Sure Frank it’s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSqJ2J2cbOs
Try going to you tube and typing in HOLLYWOOD BREAD. I just put it up today so it may take a while but try that.
If you can’t find it that way send me an email and I will put the link in it.

FOUND IT! Thanks George!
You are most welcome. Had to have it transfered from actual 16mm film.
I am a student and doing my thesis here in south FL. I am trying to find information/history about this building. I went to the Hollywood City and Hollywood historical district and it’s seems that I am not having any luck. Does any body knows who is the architect or what happen with the bread company?
Please help
I’ll truly appreciate
Hi Andrea the name of the architect is chuck norris it was build by himself while kicking some other guys butts lol who cares who build this ugly ass building.
hope that helps.
Ha! Joseph. First the building is NOT ugly. Second is an ICON in Hollywood FL and no body knows the name of who designed this building. All about Hollywood Bread seems that d isappear from the records. Lastly, your comment is NOT funny.
I’m trying to find a copy of the Hollywood Bread ad from the late 60’s that had a pleasant sounding jingle: “Hollywood Bread Taste Is Beautiful, Hollywood Bread Life Is Beautiful”. Even if Ijust had the audio it would be great! THISOLDMAN99@NETZERO.NET THANKS!!!!
My Sept 11 2011 request is still valid. Searching for Hollywood Bread Taste Is Beautiful TV commercial. THISOLDMAN99@NETZERO.NET THANKS!!!!
Where can I find Hollywood dark wheat bread, here in Philadelphia, PA?
Wow, you got me. I never heard of the brand until I drove by this building in Hollywood, FL. Sounds like a good brand since you are not the first person to inquire about it. Thanks for stopping by.
Not unusual, all the good stuff gets discontinued.
