My grandmother ate Hollywood bread every day for 70 years. Only the dark kind, not the white.

  2. LJ Cline says:

I miss Hollywood bread. I have never eaten
any bread that good since. It surely was a
    healthy food?

I will continue to try to find a distributor.

    Thanks for e-mailing.

Who has the recipe for the dark Hollywood

    Bread now?

  4. Mary says:

I remember eating Hollywood Bread as late as 1990. It had all kinds of vegetables in it, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, kale, potato, etc. It was very good. I liked the dark kind better. I wish I knew if they still sold it anywhere now. I would love to eat it again. It was very delicious.

  5. Kelley says:

I’d give anything to find that dark, delicious bread again – I have never had as tasty a bread since – I believe I still got it in the 90’s in New England – I’ll check back to see if anyone’s found it!

  6. Alex says:

Is this bread still made? and if not when did it stop, and when was the first loaf sold?

  13. Pam Wright says:

I thought that Flowers Food acquired it years ago, but it’s not listed as one of their products now, unless it’s a different name. I have never found another dark bread that was so soft. Contact flowersfoods.com.

I have a wonderful video of an original hollywood ‘light” bread commercial. It is from 1965 and Woody Allen in being interviewed.
Let me know if you would like to see it.

I am a student and doing my thesis here in south FL. I am trying to find information/history about this building. I went to the Hollywood City and Hollywood historical district and it’s seems that I am not having any luck. Does any body knows who is the architect or what happen with the bread company?
    Please help
    I’ll truly appreciate

    1. joseph says:

  20. Andrea says:

Ha! Joseph. First the building is NOT ugly. Second is an ICON in Hollywood FL and no body knows the name of who designed this building. All about Hollywood Bread seems that d isappear from the records. Lastly, your comment is NOT funny.

I’m trying to find a copy of the Hollywood Bread ad from the late 60’s that had a pleasant sounding jingle: “Hollywood Bread Taste Is Beautiful, Hollywood Bread Life Is Beautiful”. Even if Ijust had the audio it would be great! THISOLDMAN99@NETZERO.NET THANKS!!!!

    1. Jim Baker says:

Where can I find Hollywood dark wheat bread, here in Philadelphia, PA?

    1. fadingad says:

Wow, you got me. I never heard of the brand until I drove by this building in Hollywood, FL. Sounds like a good brand since you are not the first person to inquire about it. Thanks for stopping by.
